San Francisco and Fresno Veteran’s Program

Veterans, with an unemployment rate three times that of the general population, need assistance in re-entering the workforce. Building on their skills gained in the military, Growth Sector helped develop a training and employment pathway for veterans leading to high-paying jobs in the utility industry. The 400 hour intensive training program developed in conjunction with Pacific Gas & Electric PG&E leads to $60,000 per year jobs as utility workers and field and equipment mechanics.

Growth Sector Role: With support from (PG&E), Growth Sector developed the overall initiative, found education and workforce partners and successfully raised funding for a pilot program serving more than 80 veterans.
