Yes: Round 1 Interviews with STEM Core/Growth Sector staff. Selected students will move on to Round 2 interviews with employer partners.

Primarily in person with some virtual/hybrid options.

Placements begin end of spring semester/after finals. Exact date will be determined by your employer mentor.

As early as February then ongoing through Spring 2025, dependent on employer matching process.

Since placements are ongoing, we will do our best to keep your campus Student Support Specialist (SSS) up to date on application status.

8–10 weeks 40 hours a week. Note: some placements have possibility for ongoing internship or possibile employment after completion of placement.

Stipends are non-negotiable and standard rate through the STEM Core program/employer.

Students who are current participants of the program at a participating STEM Core campus. Calculus ready by the beginning of summer 2025. Good standing with STEM Core program. Available for an average of 40 hours a week (during traditional hours)

STEM Core placements are nationwide. A few of the Summer 2024 placements included: Cal Trans, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, CSULA, Berkeley Lab and Stryker. *Additional employers will be added.
